ROCKET

ORIGIN

Rocket is a leafy vegetable and belongs to the cabbage family. We distinguish between two types of rocket: one-year hedge mustard and perennial wild rocket. In a garden usually grows hedge mustard. In Europe rocket had a shadowy existence till the end of the 20th century. Due to its spicy taste rocket was not really popular until the international and especially mediterranean cuisine got introduced.

SUPERPOWERS

Among salads rocket is one of the most nutritious salads. Besides its extraordinarily high vitamin C content, the hedge mustard has also much more to offer: magnesium, zinc, phosphorus, calcium, beta-carotene, iron, potassium as well as vitamin B1, B2, B6 & vitamin E are the most important ingredients. The „King among the salads“ strengthens the immune system and is, due to the high iodine content, good for the thyroid.
