Mangos belong to the Anacardiaceae family and are related to pistachios and Caju-fruits. There are 1.000 various types of mangos, they vary in form, color, size and taste. Mangos grow in different areas like for example Mexico, USA, Central- and Southamerica, Africa, Asia or in the south of Spain. The origin of the mango is in India. Only in those places real mango forests can be found. In India mangos grow on big trees and their fruits are hanging by a long stalk.


Even though mangos have a high sugar level, they are very healthy because of their vitamins. The vitamins, that are hiding in mangos, are precious for your immune system. Special super powers of mangos are their high proportion of beta carotene, the precursor of vitamin A. Beta-carotene are good for your skin and your vision.


Besides the pulp, mangos have a lot to offer. Mangooil and mangobutter gets obtained from the seeds of the dried fuit. The plant oil gets used for example for the production of chocolate and margarine. But can also be found in cosmetics like shampoo, lip balm, soaps and cremes because of the moisturizing and greasing effect.
